They serve Cuban comfort food straight out of Abuela’s kitchen with an emphasis on fresh, all-natural, balanced, nourishing meals, just as she intended for them. Located in The Apambichao Building, a funky turn of the century Victorian landmark on Portland’s East 28th Avenue, their scene is straight up Old Havana and their hospitality is genuinely Cuban! Pambiche, a lingual bastardization of the words “Palm Beach” as pronounced by a native speaker of Cuban Spanish. Palm Beach is not just a famous resort town in southeastern Florida, located on an island off the coast. Beyond that, the literal words conjure images of a tropical beach lined with swaying palm trees, a romantic island getaway, escaping the stresses of life, slowing down, kicking back, sharing a comfortable meal with a gentle breeze and the lively pulse of Cuban rhythms.
