Do Good.® Established in 2014 in the vibrant Eliot neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, and expanding to New Mexico in 2019, Ex Novo Brewing has been on a mission to brew exceptional beer while using their business as a force for good in their community and beyond. Starting from scratch Ex Novo, which means "from scratch" in Latin, was founded by Joel Gregory in 2014. As an engineer, home brewer, and social justice activist, he envisioned creating a brewery that not only produced exceptional beer but also channeled its success towards doing good in the world. Originally started as Oregon's first nonprofit brewery, they have since restructured but remain committed to raising funds and awareness for nonprofits doing amazing work.
