At Boxcar, they are not just another pizza place. Boxcar Pizza is a locally owned business dedicated to crafting the finest pizzas in Portland, OR. Their journey began in August of 2020 by longtime pizza maker and restauranter, Odie OConnor. Odie first got into making Detroit Style Pizza during the quarantine of 2020 after he temporarily shut down his first pizza business, Baby Blue Pizza during mandatory quarantine. After toiling in his home kitchen for months, working to perfect his Detroit Style Pizza dough recipe, Odie found out about a small pizza shop for sale and decided to take the jump and open up Boxcar Pizza.
